Thank you for choosing me to capture these precious first days. Newborns change so quickly, and these fleeting moments deserve to be remembered. Sessions are calm, baby-led, and filled with love — whether in my cozy studio or the comfort of your home. From tiny details to family cuddles, we’ll create timeless memories you’ll treasure forever.
When to Do a Newborn Shoot
The sweetest time for a newborn photoshoot is usually between 7–14 days old. At this stage, babies are still in their dreamy, curly “newborn phase,” which makes those sleepy, snuggly poses easier to capture.
I provide all the props, wraps, bonnets, and headbands for your session, and we’ll chat beforehand about your preferences so everything feels personal and special.
If you can’t make it in those first two weeks—don’t worry! I offer newborn-style sessions up to 4 weeks old. Just keep in mind that as your baby grows, they may sleep less deeply and be less flexible for some of the classic newborn poses. Older babies are still absolutely beautiful to photograph, we’ll simply take the session at their pace, following their cues for poses, sleep, and awake moments. (This guidance applies to full-term babies — preemie sessions are approached differently.)
When to Book Your Newborn Shoot
- Planned C-section: Once you have your date, you can schedule your newborn session for around 7 days after birth.
- Natural birth: We’ll pencil in your due date, and once your baby arrives, you can contact me to confirm your session date, usually about a week after delivery.
Booking in advance ensures I can reserve space for you in that special window of time, so you don’t miss capturing those early, fleeting days.

✨ How to Prepare for Your Newborn Session
👗 Clothing & Style
I love using neutral-coloured clothing for newborn sessions, but feel free to wear clothing that reflects your personal style—even bright colours! Avoid clothing with logos for clean, timeless images.
For ladies, a fresh face with subtle makeup and lipstick always looks flattering in photos.
Keep clothing simple and classic for baby. I provide a variety of props, bonnets, wraps, and headbands, so there’s no need to bring outfits for your newborn.
🍼 What to Bring for Baby
– Bottles and formula (if applicable)
– Dummy or pacifier
– Plenty of nappies
The studio is kept warm so your baby is comfortable during undressed or wrapped shots. Adults may feel a little warm, so remember to take breaks, enjoy a cup of tea, and relax. I also use white noise to help keep your baby calm.
🛁 After Birth
Keep your newborn’s skin well moisturised from birth. I recommend pure olive oil (available at your local chemist), or consult your midwife/nurse for other suitable options.
📅 On the Day of the Shoot
– For breastfeeding mums, avoid spicy food and chocolate the night before.
– Dress your baby in a clip-up babygrow—nothing that goes over the head.
– Put on your baby’s nappy loosely to avoid marks.
– Avoid applying bum cream on the day.
– Give your baby an active morning—bath, massage, and a good feed before leaving home.
– Ensure your baby is safely secured in the car seat; the motion often helps them sleep.
– Please message me when you leave home with your estimated arrival time so I can have the studio warm and ready.
– Arriving on time is important, as I may not be able to extend sessions for late arrivals.

🎨 Backdrop & Colour Choices
White or grey clothing looks beautiful against the white, grey, and brown/black Fine Art backdrops. Almost any colour works against the black backdrop, though black clothing will blend into it, keeping the focus on your baby.
The brown Fine Art backdrop works beautifully with warm colours, greens, and mustard tones. We can chat on WhatsApp to plan your backdrop colour.
Terms & Conditions
- All image editing is at the photographer’s discretion. Additional or specific editing requests may incur an extra fee per image.
- Prices are subject to change without prior notice.
- The selection of images for delivery is at the photographer’s discretion.
- Editing of images typically takes approximately 3 weeks from the date of the photoshoot.
- Please notify the photographer if you do not wish for your images to be shared on social media. By default, a sneak peek may be shared online.
- A deposit is required to secure your booking.
- The balance of your session fee is due on the day of the photoshoot unless otherwise arranged.
- No images will be released until full payment has been received.
- The photographer reserves the right to use images taken during the session for promotional and advertising purposes, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
- Clients are responsible for providing accurate information regarding their booking and any special requests.
- The photographer is not responsible for delays caused by weather, traffic, or other unforeseen circumstances.
- Cancellations or rescheduling must be communicated in advance. Deposits may be non-refundable depending on the package and notice period.
- Clients must ensure the safety and well-being of children or pets during sessions; the photographer is not liable for accidents during the shoot.
- Session times cannot always be extended for late arrivals; the session will end as scheduled.
- Clients are responsible for any fees or permissions associated with shooting at private or public locations.
